Conscious Evolution is a 36-credit Master of Arts degree program that explores how consciousness relates to human potential and its power to change lives. Colleagues engage with theories of individual, cultural, and systems development, drawing upon a wide range of disciplines, including science, history, cultural studies, psychology, philosophy, art, spirituality, and religion. Through in-depth engagement with the processes of Conscious Evolution, colleagues enhance their capacity to create holistic interventions that facilitate positive change in complex situations. The Conscious Evolution program is founded on the premise that, using our knowledge of the 14 billion year evolutionary process, we can begin to consciously affect the trajectory of development at all levels. Within this context, colleagues engage with the moral, ethical, philosophical, spiritual, and creative dimensions of an evolutionary perspective and examine the challenges faced by a complex world. They analyze their own level of development and assess the particular evolutionary dilemmas faced by other persons, groups, organizations, and societies. Colleagues are required to complete an integrated plan of study that includes a commitment to collective engagement within the cohort, a mentorship, and a culminating action research project. The curriculum provides colleagues with many opportunities to apply the rapidly growing body of consciousness research to pragmatic, real-world enterprises. Study is generally completed within twenty-two months, with colleagues meeting one weekend (Friday evening and Saturday) per month during the academic year and one week each summer.
