Allan Combs, Ph.D. Visit Dr. Combs' Website Allan Combs is a Professor of Transformative Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies. His background is in consciousness studies, neuropsychology, and systems science. He also holds appointments at the Saybrook Graduate School and the Assisi Conferences, and is Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina-Asheville. Allan is author of over fifty articles, chapters, and books on consciousness and the brain, including The Radiance of Being (2ed): Understanding the Grand Integral Vision; Living the Integral Life, winner of the best-book award of the Scientific and Medical Network of the UK, with a foreword by Ken Wilber; Changing Visions: Human Cognitive Maps Past, Present, and Future, with Ervin Laszlo, Vilmos Csanyi, and Robert Artigiani; Chaos Theory in Psychology and the Life Sciences, edited with Robin Robertson; Nonlinear Dynamics in Human Behavior, edited with William Sulis; Synchronicity: Through the Eyes of Science, Myth, and the Trickster with Mark Holland; and Mind in Time: The Dynamics of Thought, Reality, and Consciousness, with Mark Germine and Ben Geortzel. Professor Combs is co-founder of the Integral Foundation and The Society for Chaos Theory in Psychology and the Life Sciences, a member of The General Evolution Research Group, the Integral Institute, the Forge Guild and the one-hundred member Club of Budapest. He is Co-Editor of the Journal of Conscious Evolution, Associate Editor of Dynamical Psychology, and serves on the Editorial Board of Science & Consciousness Review. Allan was the winner of the 2002-2003 National Teaching Award of the Association of Graduate Liberal Studies Programs, and in the same year the held the UNCA Honorary Ruth and Leon Feldman Professorship. | |
| | Principal Coordinator James Trifone, Ph.D. Jim Trifone brings more than twenty years of educational management to this program. He has published and presented research in the United States and abroad on "concept mapping" and "the transformational nature of experience," among other topics. His dedication to the field of consciousness and to the literature of the field adds a valuable dimension to the program. An experienced coordinator in innovative graduate programs at Southern Connecticut State University and Sacred Heart University, Jim has is also the author of several publications, including, Addressing the Needs of the Concrete Reasoner and The Test of Logical Thinking: Applications for Teaching and Placing Science Students. | |
| | Program Coordinator Charles Silverstein, M.A. Charles Silverstein is dedicated to pursuing his deep interest in personal transformation, alternative healing, and the relationship between science and spirituality. Currently a PhD candidate at the California Institute of Integral Studies, his research focuses on conscious evolution and personal growth. Charles holds workshops on consciousness-based healing, leads group meditations, and is a practitioner of Taoist Yoga. He had a 20-year career as a financial analyst and portfolio manager, and was an educator in the fields of science and mathematics. | |
| | Program Coordinator, Archetypal Cosmology Track Glenn Perry, Ph.D. Visit Dr. Perry's Website Glenn Perry is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Haddam Neck, CT. He received his doctorate in Consciousness Studies from Saybrook Institute in San Francisco. Perry is director and lead faculty for The Academy for AstroPsychology and former editor-publisher of The Journal of AstroPsychology. He lectures internationally on astrological applications within the fields of counseling and psychotherapy. He has written eight books, including Depth Analysis of the Natal Chart, and more than 50 articles on AstroPsychology. From 1997-2000, he served as adjunct professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where he taught graduate classes in psychological astrology. Dr. Perry has also been employed as clinical evaluator and adjunct professor at Antioch College, Union College, and Goddard College for graduate students seeking to integrate astrology into their course work. He serves as Qualitative Research Advisor and a Board Member of the International Society for Astrological Research. | |
